fall near freezing along and north of the Interstate 10 corridor

WarningDesc:Areal Flood Warning
WarningDate:11:12 am EST on February 12, 2010
WarningSum:
Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a
* Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams for the following
counties...
in northern Florida...
Baker...northwestern Alachua...northern Bradford...
Columbia...Gilchrist...Hamilton...Suwannee and Union counties...
in southern Georgia...Clinch and Echols counties...
* until 1045 PM EST Friday
* at 1050 am EST...Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a large
area of moderate to heavy rain across northern Florida and southern
Georgia extending all the way back to the western Panhandle of
Florida. Areas along the Interstate 10 corridor have already
received rainfall accumulations of 1 to 2 inches this morning...with
another 1 to 3 inches likely through the day. This will likely
result in flooding in some areas as soils are already very moist due
to previous heavy rainfall events this winter.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams...highways...streets and underpasses.
Additionally...country roads and farmlands along the banks of
creeks...streams and other low lying areas are subject to flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Sinkholes may also develop.
